This rare set of three (3) Mid-Century Modernist art-pottery cups, crafted by renowned and rather mysterious "WEG Gallery" of New York City in the 1950s, are highly collectible and truly a challenge to find! --- Featuring an abstract motif, a classic "Atomic Age" design against soft-grey background, these cups (offered as a group of three) are in good condition and reveal the "WEG" signature on their bases. The WEG Gallery was named for its founders, William Forauer and Elmer Gross, life partners and fellow artisans. --- Free Shipping!

A 1952 New York Times article described WEG's newly issued ceramics collection: --- "A gray glaze marked with faint black lines consitutes the background for the delicate motifs that decorate the objects in the Weg ceramic group made by Elmer Gross and William Forauer," and indicated that the cups are part of a martini-mixer set.
